Savings Accounts

  • Your funds are federally-insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration, a federal-government agency. Click here for more information about the limits of coverage by the NCUA.

  • This is the base of your membership with Wayne County Community Federal Credit Union, and a minimum amount of $5 in this account opens up other credit union benefits for you. Members must keep at least a $5 balance in the savings at all times.

  • Quarterly statement (if you only have a savings account only).

  • To open this account, you will need to have proper identification. A valid government-issued picture identification is needed (usually a driver's license works well), and one or more other forms of identification (credit card or utility bill in your name) is needed. We will also need your Social Security number, or equivalent.

  • Savings accounts are interest-bearing, and are based on your Average Daily Balance (ADB). An ADB of $25 or more is required for any interest to be paid for the period. (Rate paid will vary and may change without notice). Click here for rates.

  • The $5 Regular Share minimum and any pledged shares will not be transferred if there is an overdraft in your checking account, if you choose (or "opt-in") to have Automatic Funds Transfer. Important: When using debit (point-of-sale) transactions with WCCFCU MasterCard debit card, and you "overdraw" your checking account, funds will be transferred from your savings account if those funds are available to cover the transaction (and a transfer fee will be assessed). If there are not available funds, the transaction will be declined. Automatic Funds Transfer (also known as an overdraft transfer service) will apply to debit transactions. If you did not choose an option when you set up your account, WCCFCU will automatically set up overdraft transfers from your Savings. The Schedule of Fees will show the cost of the Transfer Fee.
